Homemade Healthy Dog Treats! 

Peanut Butter & Banana Pup Treats

INGREDIENTS:

  • 3 cups old fashioned oats, or more, as needed
  • 2 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1/4 cup peanut butter
  • 1/4 cup coconut oil, melted

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat; set aside.
  2. In a large bowl, combine oats, bananas, peanut butter and coconut oil. Add an additional 2 tablespoons oats at a time just until the dough is no longer sticky.
  3. Working on a lightly floured surface, knead the dough 3-4 times until it comes together. Using a rolling pin, roll the dough to 1/4-inch thickness. Using cookie cutters, cut out desired shapes and place onto the prepared baking sheet.
  4. Place into oven and bake until the edges are golden brown, about 10-12 minutes.
  5. Let cool completely.

 

Tropical Dog Treats!

Ingredients

    • 1/2 cup oats (quick for dogs, quick, steel-cut or old-fashioned are fine for horses)
    • 1 jar pineapple-apple baby food
    • 1 jar sweet potato baby food
    • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and cover a baking tray with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
  2. Mix all four ingredients in a medium bowl.
  3. Use a tablespoon to drop clumps of the mixture on to the baking tray. Shape if you wish.*
  4. Bake for 18-20 minutes, until treats are set.

 

Strawberry Banana Dog Treats!

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1/4 cup coconut oil, melted

Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup evaporated lowfat milk
  • 1 large egg

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Mix all of the ingredients together until well combined.
  3. Drop the dough by teaspoons full onto a greased cookie sheet.
  4. Bake for 9-12 minutes or until golden.
  5. Remove from the oven, cool and store in an airtight container.

 

Veggie Pup Treats!

Ingredients

    • 1/2 cup oats (quick for dogs, quick, steel-cut or old-fashioned are fine for horses)
    • 1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
    • 1/4 cup cooked & mashed peas
    • 1/2 cup grated carrot
    • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and cover a baking tray with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
  2. Mix all ingredients in a medium bowl.
  3. Use a tablespoon to drop clumps of the mixture on to the baking tray. Shape if you wish.
  4. Bake for 18-20 minutes, until treats are set.
